Sara has 8 years of experience as an educator; 7 years as a high school math teacher and 1 year as a 9-12 math instructional coach in the DFW area. She has taught Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 1, Beginner EB Algebra 1, and Algebra 2. She has served as the Algebra 1 team leader and Math department chair.  She is also the 22-23 teacher of the year for her high school as well as awarded top 10 district 22-23 teacher of the year for a district that has over 70 campuses and top 5 district secondary 22-23 teacher of the year for a district that has over 20 secondary campuses. She is skilled in building academic student engagement in mathematics and in coaching teachers to reach their professional goals. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University in Mathematics with a minor in Education and holds a Masters of Education degree in Math Curriculum and Instruction from University of Texas at Arlington. Sara also has extensive experience with curriculum development, instructional coaching, data driven instruction, and PLC leadership. She is passionate about teaching as teaching is a work of heart. Sara loves education and loves working with teachers to collaborate in helping students engage, grow, and succeed in their learning of mathematics.
