First-Year Fellowship: Time Commitment Overview (2027–2028)
Here's a look at what your first year as a FUSE Fellow involves for the 2027–2028 school year. Every touchpoint is designed to build your capacity and connect you with a network of educators doing this work alongside you.
Every FUSE session is virtual. There are no in-person meetings. The summer PLI, kick-off meetings, school-year PLIs, and coaching sessions all happen online, so you can join from anywhere with a reliable internet connection and a camera. No travel required.
You'll get your cohort assignment in June 2027. Every Fellow is placed in either the Blue or Gold cohort, and your cohort determines your fall and spring PLI dates. Look for your assignment in June so you can plan ahead with your campus.
Summer Professional Learning Institute (PLI)
FUSE Pre-Work | Available 10 days before the summer PLI
Before attending the summer PLI, each Fellow completes a 90-minute introductory online module. It's a simple way to arrive oriented and ready.
Summer PLI | July 13–15, 2027 (Virtual)
The summer PLI is a critical launch experience for all Fellows. This two-and-a-half-day event features an engaging mix of interactive sessions and an opportunity to build connections with more than 200 teachers beginning their FUSE journey together. All summer sessions are virtual, and Fellows should join on their own device in a quiet space where they can use their camera.

Fellows attend virtually and join through our Canvas LMS. (Details will be sent in early June.)
- Can't attend live? A self-paced make-up option is available for Fellows who miss any part of the summer PLI.
Virtual Kick-Off Meetings (Teacher Fellows)
From late July through early August, we'll hold 60-minute virtual kick-off meetings on Mondays, so you can get comfortable administering your Student Engagement Modules before students arrive. Each teacher Fellow attends one session. We'll show you how to register in Canvas, our online learning platform. International Fellows will be offered an alternative time that works for their schedule.

School Year Commitments
During the school year, Fellows are placed into one of two cohorts, Blue or Gold, for Professional Learning Institutes. You'll learn your group assignment in early June 2027.

4 Virtual Coaching Sessions
60 minutes each, held on Wednesday evenings outside the school day. Two session options are offered on each date.
